Happy Independence Day to all my friends. Some charts to
reflect upon the recent economic condition of our country. The charts are self
explanatory and you can post your comments at the bottom of the page.
Currency is the stock of the nation. It is sum up of
all major economic indicators (GDP, inflation, interest rates, deficit, debt
etc). The performance is in front of you.
The currency is reflecting the poor real GDP growth rate.
The root cause of the poor GDP growth is the
lack of investment in the country. The country is not investing enough in
creating the enabling environment to growth such as controlling law and order,
investing into infrastructure (power, roads etc) and creating an investment
friendly environment.
Due to lack of investment, our industrial
production is not picking up and it creates an inflationary environment which
is hurting our purchasing power parity and making our currency a weaker lot.
